CHILDREN AVAILABLE: Eighteen months and older, with Uzbek, Tadjik, Mongolian or Russian appearances. Sibling groups available. Family will receive brief medical and photos on available children. Testing for HIV, hepatitis and syphilis. Some children will need medical and/or developmental intervention. Even healthy children may have negative-sounding medical reports. Girls and boys are available. |

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Two trips to Uzbekistan are required. First trip will be approximately 5 days, second trip is 3 – 4 weeks long, although one parent can leave early. Alternatively, family may be able to stay and complete the adoption process in one trip of approximately 35 days. Coordinators, drivers and translators will be provided. Children already in the home may travel. |

LENGTH OF PROCESS: Preparation of adoption dossier takes 2 – 3 months. Family will receive a referral usually within 8 - 12 weeks of dossier submission. Once referral is accepted, family makes first trip within approx. four to six months and second trip approximately six weeks later. |

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Flexible, although generally there may be no more than a 45 year age difference between the adoptive mother and the child. Family must be at least 15 years older than the child. Couples should be married for at least one year. Singles are not eligible to adopt in Uzbekistan. |
